Panasonic LZ10

Latest gadget hoot of the month.... Finally gotta a camera for myself....

Been pondering over my camera purchase for a very very long while... Many cameras came across my mind..
Was previously looking at Canon S90, Panasonic LX3, then sometimes have thoughts about getting a Pentax DSLR K-X.

I really thought hard about this.. I don't want to get a camera that has everything that i don't use. Budget was a big constraint to me as well.

So i decide to look around forums & hear what ppl are saying.. Then one day, i found a gem lurking among them all..

A model called the Panasonic LZ10 came into my knowledge & as with any gadget purchase, i went to find out more about it. Some ppl compares it to a budget LX3.

After reading some good reviews & feedback on it, i decided to get it for the following reasons.

  1. Its very very value for money. (Managed to get it at Best Denki Century Square for $179.00 inclusive of a free 8gb Class 4 SD card)
  2. The picture quality far exceeds my expectations for its price point.
  3. The camera has full manual controls. (This allow a noob in photography to learn the ropes first before splurging on a DSLR)
  4. Night shots looks decent as compared to other PNS camera.
  5. It runs on AA batteries. (Pros & Cons but i leaning towards this as AA batteries will not be obsolete & when holidaying & battery runs low. Just drop by the nearest 7-11 to get a fresh pair)
Guess i will talk less about it now & get on playing with it..

Quality: Build was good for its price point. Typing on the keyboard is quiet & does not leave you the feeling of how a cheap product will be. The mouse itself comes with BlueTrack technology which is quoted by Microsoft as the technology that combines the power of optical with the precision of laser for remarkable tracking on virtually any surface. in short - this mouse will work in more surfaces than your standard laser mice..

Prolink PCC3220 Webcam

Went to Pasir Ris Challenger today & spotted this nifty looking webcam.
Its made by Prolink & costs only 25 bucks. The itch got to me & i need some gadget therapy.
Decide to go ahead to purchase it for web chats & whatnots as my old logitech one is such a dinosaur & is not supported on Win 7.

Overall, after using it for the entire day, my overall feel on this product is that its a value for money, no frills kinda webcam. Quality wise is comparable to the well known ones like Microsoft or Logitech ones.

Functions that i like about this webcam is the night vision LED that allows you to webchat in the dark.
